Illiterate, Ignorant or just plain stupid?

I was at Ang Mo Kio MRT station waiting for a friend to come pick up something from me yesterday and something happened.
Totally pissed me off.
My friend was late, so I hung around at the right side of the station.
I watched as this scrawny teenage boy (with glasses, centre parting hair, small slitty eyes. Was wearing a white polo tee and blue denim jeans.White Adidas shoes, I believe) walk to a transparent box, look up at the sign before it and drop something in.
I had no idea what it was, so I went up to take a closer look.
I found out that the box was actually a contribution box for the Yellow Ribbon project and Messages of Hope was supposed to be deposited into the box.
Horror struck me as I took a glimpse at the contents of the transparent box.
Inside, there were NO Messages of Hope..instead, receipts and used Ezlink cards were dumped in there.
Basically, people used it as a trashcan!
Being a supporter of the Yellow Ribbon project, I got so angry but I couldn't do a damn thing about it.
I snapped some pictures, came home after meeting up with my friend and told Val about it.
Val suggested I send the images to Stomp so that they could publish it.
And that's what I did.
They published it on their website at about 6pm yesterday, but I only knew after Val told me.

Please, guys, don't do this to the people who have paid for their crimes.
They have suffered enough with all that discrimination out there.
I know how it's like.
