Ah Boi says:

Ahh..same old routine.
Am getting quite bored of it.

From tonight onwards, I shall sleep early and wake up earlier, so that I can see the sun longer. Maybe that will kill the feeling of "really short days". It has it's perks too, you know?
I can prepare myself for the new semester, considering that majority of my classes start at 9am and end at 5pm. And by waking up earlier, maybe I can get more things done.
Damn..Holidays are ending. They just whizz by when you're starting to sink into it!

Mama cooked a really special dish today. Shark Cartilage Soup.
Apparently, my family had it at this seafood restaurant and they liked it. So today, this fishmonger gave Mama some shark cartilage and she made the soup. Boiled over charcoal for bulk of the day, the taste was fantastic. It was a light tasting soup, with shark marrow and huge chunks of Chinese ham. Yum yum..I was right to coerce mom into buying that charcoal pot. Now she says she's going to cook soup like this every week on her off day!

Ahh..I miss lazy Sundays with Dearie..
7 more days..Hurry up..

Ah Boi says:

Phew..*sweats*..It's such a hot and humid day.
Although it rained in the afternoon, it's still warm..even my air conditioner is struggling to pump out cold air. Needless to say, I didn't get my photoshoot.

Finally managed to complete the "Shu" story arc of Warriors Orochi. Val wasn't online (at least until 6++) and I was bored, so I kept playing until I completed the story arc. Got to say, Zhao Yun is really cool and probably the best character in the whole story arc.

Watched "Stranger than Fiction" (2006) today. The movie stars Will Ferrel and Maggie Gyllenhaal..but it's not a comedy, unlike Will Ferrel's staple movies. It's actually a drama about very punctual and overly compulsive Howard Creak (Will Ferrel) who wakes up one day and hears a narration of his life in his head. He goes on to try to lead his life, fails miserably, falls in love and finally finds the person who is narrating in his head. A good and touching movie, with bits and pieces of witty dialogue thrown in.

Overall, the movie was pretty satisfying and I liked it..very much. I especially liked Maggie Gyllenhaal's character, Ana Pascal. If you haven't watched it, it's definitely worth renting the movie from your nearby Video Ezy or preferred video rental store.

Tonight: Manchester United vs Aston Villa!
Must watch!
Glory, Glory Man United!

Missing you..weekends without you stinks.
Having you so far away stinks even more.

Ah Boi says:

Today was an OK day.
Selected my IS modules in the morning and went back to sleep..and after what felt like 10 minutes, I woke up and realised that it was 2.20pm! LOL!
Got out of the house to do some work with the guys on our thesis film..came home and whack "Warriors Orochi"..

Starhub finally managed to rectify my SMS problem and for the 1st time this week, I could contact Dearie through SMS! HeHz..
Kudos to the CSC and Senior Consultant from Starhub..really appreciate their efforts to solve my problem quick.

I still haven't gone on my photography excursion. Initially wanted to go shoot the sunset after dinner but it started raining at 6.00pm and didn't stop until 8pm..BAH!

Out of curiousity, I went to Wikipedia and searched for historical figures such as Diaochan, Da & Xiao Qiao, Guan Yu, Zhao Yun...really interesting!
When I was in Secondary 4, my chinese teacher told us about Guan Yu's death. Said that he was betrayed by somebody (I can't remember who) and that in China, where they have erected a temple for Guan Yu's grave, there is a figurine of that betrayer and people spit or abuse the figurine. However, on Wikipedia, it states otherwise..hmm..wonder who is right.
And I always thought Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan were brothers..turns out that I was wrong! They're cousins! HeHz..Maybe I'll start reading ROTK (Yes, I have not read it, but I know enough to hold a conversation about it).

Alright then..that's all for today..
Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow..or I'll be pretty bored. And Val might not be around too. ArGhz!
Weekends without you just sucks.

Ah Boi says:

Wasn't a very pleasant day.
For one, Starhub hasn't rectified the problem, but I now know that it's not a problem on my end.
Secondly, it was pouring yet again.

BUT!

I did do something different today.
I got this new game, Warriors Orochi and it rocks!
Running around as my favourite ROTK (Romance Of Three Kingdoms) warrior, smacking the living daylights out of historical enemies..WOOT!
Been at it for the whole day..Hahahaha..

I can foresee that I will be in a rather nasty mood tomorrow, mainly because I have to wake up at 7.30 so I can choose which IS module I want for the semester. IS should just be abolished. Who in the right mind ever learns anything from it? Honestly, I cannot remember a single thing from the IS modules I've taken..maybe just the unpleasant encounters.
Bah!

Think I'll start calling Dearie later. @^&*ing Starhub better wake up their idea and rectify the problem soon. Oh, did I tell you they had the AUDACITY to call Dearie to ask if she received any SMS-es from me? Did I sound like I was lying? I have better things to do, you know?
GRRrrrrrrrr...*RAWR*

10 more days to go..I will be strong..
Miss you so badly right now..

Ah Boi says:

Another day..another post.
"Did you have a good day today?"..I hear you ask.
No.
I didn't.
In fact, I spent the day doing the same things as yesterday. And the day before.
GOD! I really have to get out of my home and..GOD! It just keeps raining!

I called up Starhub. Again.
Twice today. Spoke very nicely as always.
And guess what?
NOW, they need A FRICKING WEEK to find out what happened. It's bloody killing me.
I don't want to call because it's fricking expensive if you notice. I keep telling Dearie not to call me as well.
So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to call them tomorrow and tell them I'm going to have to make calls instead of SMS-es..and see if they can waive off IDD charges or something because..IT IS A PROBLEM ON THEIR BLOODY END.

Dad is sick. Again.
And BOY, does he make me look compliant with his stubborness.
Refused to eat anything for lunch (save a few "Siew Mais" I steamed for him) and simply refuses to see a doctor or take flu tablets.
Mom came home and screamed for him to go see a doctor or get some medication into his body and eat something.

Had an emo dream. Again.
Weird and emotional, it was.
But it only made my conviction stronger..that I made the right choice and I'm not regretting it.
Val was there to listen to it..then she sorta laughed and said "Heng I cannot remember my dreams one".

I hope it'll be a good day tomorrow. AGAIN.
I miss you so much..
I'm waiting for you to come home..patiently.

Ah Boi says:

So it's another day..
Another day which I failed to use.
Rained again when I wanted to go out..and the weather wasn't exactly pleasant for a photoshoot.

Something has been just hovering over me today. Been thinking about my past..about what I've accomplished and all that. Quite honestly, I haven't done anything worth mentioning. Sure, I did well for the past 3 years or so. Sure, I've been working hard. But then again...

Shouldn't I achieve these 8 years ago?
Shouldn't I just work harder then?
I don't really know.

Somehow..a big part of me really regrets not working harder then. Maybe I would already be somewhere out there in the rat race, earning my own keep and in an ideal world, probably married with a kid or something. But then again...

Maybe I wouldn't be as happy compared to what I'm doing now?
Maybe I wouldn't learn how to treasure what I have?
Maybe I wouldn't be as contented as I am now?
Forgive me. I'm a Librain..we're indecisive.

Oh well..no point crying over spilt milk, they say.
Just have to stand up as straight as I can, march on and face the blinding gale as they come.
I hope that after Year 3, I'll finally be able to look myself in the mirror and say everything was worth it.

On a happier note, Dearie sent me SMSes today!
So happy to hear from her. Unfortunately, my replies to her got lost in the giant web of telecommunication and repeated calls to Starhub rendered no solution to the problem. Just have to wait and see if Starhub can rectify the problem. Sending SMSes to Val in Ozzie and Jie in Malaysia hasn't given me any problems so I don't think it's a problem on my end.
Hope they fix the problem soon.
Hope tomorrow will be a better day.

Chilly night..wish I could snuggle up with you.

Ah Boi says:

Sad morning it was this morning. Dearie has left me for her trip to India. Some youth expedition project to India with her school.

Came home after sending her off and went straight to sleep. Was still feeling quite happy from Manchester United's smashing win over Liverpool. Chelsea also managed to win Arsenal at Stanford Bridge, sending them down to 3rd place on the table. WOOT!

Well, basically, I did nothing the whole day. Watched television, tried to read a little and chatted with Val most of the time. It's amazing how much we yak to each other. HeHz..Gapless friends mahh..

It's kind of boring without a RS account. Dammit..I need one soon..so I'm going to wait another day for that seller. If he doesn't have any, then I suppose I'll just get one from my previous source, despite it being a tad more expensive.

Wanted to go out in the evening. Maybe go shoot some sunset pictures or stuff like that but the skies started to darken as I packed my camera bag. Bah..hopefully it'll be clear and sunny tomorrow.

Sigh..it's the 1st time I won't be able to talk to, much less meet, Dearie for so long. It'll be 2 weeks before I can see her again. Was hoping for a call at least, but my phone has been pretty silent today. HeHz..bet she's watching that small video clip I made for her right now. I transferred it to her phone yesterday while she was asleep.

I'm kind of worried about her as well. That girl is as blur as a "sotong". I really hope that she remembers what I've taught her. Over there, once you leave your bag unattended for FIVE SECONDS, that's it. You'll be sure to lose your belongings. And don't forget all that traffic and all the "hum sup" ABNNs over there. Then she gets sick so bloody easily. Oh wait, they aren't very sanitary when it comes to food as well, are they? Good thing Mom made her some emergency home cooked food and gave her some medication (just in case, ya know?).

Oh well, that's all for today. I pray for a more exciting day tomorrow.
Sigh..I miss you already.

Meat Overdose!

Ah Boi says:

Been such a long time since I last blogged here..Been superbly busy with school this semester.
And finally, the holidays are here!
Pretty excited to see my grades..even though I know I'll drop grades and lose my book prizes and Dean's List status.

Dearie's birthday is coming up, so about a month ago I started planning a celebration for her. Turns out that I have to work on her birthday itself, so I brought her out today.

2 weeks ago, I started researching on places to go to for dinner. Dearie was rather keen on going to a Brazilian Churrascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse), so it set my gears turning. Went online, asked for reviews on the various churrascarias available in Singapore. Finally decided on going to Samba Brazilian Churrascaria for dinner.

Hehz..events of the day would probably bore you guys to death, so I'll cut straight to the point.
So I lied to Dearie about not having enough moolah for dinner at Samba and that we would be going to a seafood restaurant at ECP for "horfun" instead. I tell you, the disappointment on her face, you can never miss. So took a cab (because I overslept in the afternoon) and went down to Roxy Square. Our reservation was at 7pm and it was still early when we got there, so I made her walk with me all the way to Parkway Parade before lying about an errand I had to run for my brother. So walked back all the way to Roxy..and into Samba. She was totally speechless..LOL!

Entrance to Samba

The service at Samba is really good. Waiters/waitresses were quick to attend to customers, top up drinks and clear our unwanted plates. Ordered a Lime Caipirinha (Brazil's national cocktail) for Dearie and I had a Sol beer [which tasted like my favourite Corona beer..not surprising since both are products of Mexico (Read: MEX-HEE-KO!)].

Before the feast, we were treated to an array of starters at the salad bar. It wasn't like HUGE or anything, but just enough to whet our appetites for what's to come. Tried the chicken lasagna, potato salad, mashed potato and 2 mini lobsters. We didn't want to fill ourselves up or we would get too stuffed to enjoy all the 15 cuts of meat and seafood.

Shortly after, the Passadores (chefs) came carrying huge skewers of delectable grilled meat. We had Pork Sausages, Honey Baked Ham, Char Siew, Beef Topside with Garlic, Chicken Drumstick, Dory fish, Shrimp, Leg of Lamb, Pork Ribs, and one of the Beef "steak" (don't know what it was..whack only, lah).

The meat was pretty alright. It was decent, but not fantastic. Lightly marinated with garlic and salt, my guess is that Samba wants to deliver the food with it's natural taste to its customers. Sadly, my mom probably makes better Char Siew and the Chicken Drumstick we didn't fancy. The drumstick was a tad too "kayu" (wood) for us. Beef wise, Dearie didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. I guess the meat was too gamey for her taste.

For dessert (or rather an interval for me), we had grilled pineapple with cinnamon and a banana Flanblado (bananas cooked in orange juice and ice cream, I guess). We loved it..the pineapple and bananas really washed out all the fatty and meaty taste in our gullets, something an extra bottle of OVERPRICED Evian failed to do.

Banana Flanblado
As we were about to leave, my much awaited dish appeared..ROASTED CHICKEN HEARTS!
Damn, I waited 2 darn hours for it to make an appearance, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna leave without tasting it. Dearie cringed at the sight of it..hahaha..

Roasted Chicken Hearts

All in all, it was a good dinner and we left with smiles on our faces. It was worth it, watching Dearie smile all the way home, even if we only had 11 out of the promised 13-15 meat/seafood cuts.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, guys. I forgot to bring out my camera, so we were reduced to using our lousy 2mp handphone cameras..and I realised that many of the pictures we took were either underexposed or out of focus.

I would like to thank Val for listening to my rants and raves for the past month or so about the dinner...as well as giving me advice on the matter. We would probably really have gone for that "horfun" if you didn't tell me to hang on..LOL!

Cheers everyone!

KKH Posting

It's my last day at KKH today..
This attachment i'm pretty satisfied with my result though it's not an A.. haha..
My CF was great overall.. had so much fun working with her and complaining to her.. she's much better than the previous attachment.. able to interact with us and so on.. Yap

In the ONG ward.. I prefer working with the babies because they are so cute and adorable.. most of the babies looked alike i think.. i love feeding and playing with them.. Didn have the chance to hands on to many skills sadly.. only infant bathing and bottle feeding.. Time passes by pretty slowly.. Pretty sure that none of us would like to be working with the mommys right? haha

Not able to take many pictures there.. so here are 2 pictures that i secretly took when the nurses weren't around..

Next up is the Gyne ward. Was a little much better because there are cases which we never see before.. Such as MTPT.. there are so many abortions going on.. it's our first time experiencing how they actually aborted the baby.. it's just like giving birth.. seen the baby just came out, took the last breathe and say goodbye.. it's such a pity to see such cases.. esp when the baby is almost fully formed with hands legs and even finger nails.. there's one which i saw is the baby is actually sucking the thumb.. Haiz..

CI took a fresh placenta to show us.. quite surprisingly we actually got high and even play with it.. haha.. i know i know we are such a saddist.. the feeling of it was slimy and jelly like. Even CF just cannot take such saddist behavior from us when it is so disgusting and bloody..

Actually there's a layer but we tore it just to see what's inside that layer.

We actually use the umbilical cord to made a ????? hahaha.. that's when CF told us that we are such a saddist

This attachment these 2 Regina Lim had so much fun working together and teasing each other.. Never have i thought that she can be so noisy and bubbly.. lol..

Lastly not forgetting to mention about my Charming Doctor in the ward.. he's such a gentlemen and friendly personality.. worked with him and chatted with him for the first time today.. i really had a great time.. he just got that charisma that even patients praise him and talks about him.. hehe...

Next, i'll be attached to IMH.. it's so near to my house.. and to all my dearest friends.. please tell me when u guys are coming over to stay and at the same time, pls be reminded to bring your sleeping bag as there is not enough beds to accommodate all okay..

Thank you and misses to all out there...

Back From the Dead.. lalalala

Hmmm... finally back blogging since i have no idea when..

there's so many things to talk about..
Lets start with the runaway terrorist...
I think it is so stupid that he actually manage to run away.. How is that possible?
The perfect image of safety in Singapore has been destroyed i guess..
I really hope that the guy will be caught in no time...
In any case, i wish all of you out there will keep a look out for the terroist and be careful out there as well.. we might not be able to know where he might be hidding..

Let's start from the semester. i've been a busy ger this whole month with assignments and meetings plus my working schedule lastly coping with my exams. Time management is very important for me and so, girlfriends and i decided to have a weekly plan book by our side keeping track of wad to do now and then. It's really useful i guess.. haha..

Here are some pictures taken when i went for the airshow. the show was great.

The US pilots... They were so friendly
