Random thoughts...

Just a random thought of mine.

I was pissed with those people who just love to gossips behinds one's back. I mean why can't you guys voice out those unhappiness in you? putting a fake mask and acting as if nth went wrong?
i always thought that gossiping are backstabbing behind one's back.
that is my description of Gossipers. some may or may not agree with this.

A friend and dearie told me this. I shouldn't care about all these nonsense but just focus on myself. Just do what is right with all your good friends supporting you. I won't be able to please all but just a minority would be good enough. Just be myself and do what is best for you.

Dropping this topic. Let's talk about my india trip instead.

Firstly i would like to thank all the coordinators and leaders to make this trip happen. Had learn a lot from this trip. It is totally a different country compared with us. Regardless of the technologies and even traffic control. The whole of 2 weeks i've been eating their Indian delicacy. Told myself that i wouldn't be consuming any Indian food once i reach Singapore for a month. i couldn't adapt with certain food and of cause the polluted environment. Really thankful that i wasn't born in such environment. However it really teaches me to be appreciative in what i had over here. It's really an eye opener for me.

A week of holiday before heading back to sch. Couldn't be imagining myself in year 3. Sch's been sucky. really got no idea why i've got no mood to start studying again. suppose to be motivated since in a few months time i'll be heading for my PRCP. How am i going to be surviving this year??? Haiz...

14/14

Ah Boi says:

Yay!
I've made it through!

Right now as we speak, Dearie is waiting for her flight back home.
I'm so happy! Though I'll probably only see her on Tuesday or Wednesday, it'll be great to have her back home.

So here's what I'm probably going to do..
I'm going to stay up all night and watch CSI..just so I can hear her voice early in the morning..

Not much to update today, so I'm keeping it short and simple.
Two weeks, 1 location and no life.
No more. Next time, she's going to have to bring me along.

13/14

Ah Boi says:

Yay! It has already been 13 days since Dearie left for India..soon she'll be home!
But unfortunately, it also means that our holidays are ending and we're going back to another aggravating semester.

Been messing with Photoshop and decided to touch up some of my past photographs.
Gave up the idea of vector art because it was superbly difficult. It wasn't as easy as it seemed.

Have to go down to Sin Ming tomorrow for Ching Ming prayers..
Missed Granny so much last night..couldn't help it. Tears streamed down my face as I remembered the day she passed away. Somehow..I've forgotten her voice. I do vaguely remember but thats all. Man..wish technology was more advanced then..maybe I'll still have a video recording of her.
However..I'll never forget Granny..and the things she did for me.
I know that Granny is look down upon us from Heaven..and she knows how much we miss her.
Oh well..

HeHz..
I'm looking forward to next Saturday.

Another 31 hours to go..before you're safely home..

Ah Boi says:

HeHz..I've been messing around with Photoshop today..
I still am, actually..which explains why this post is late.

I've always been fascinated with vector and line art..It's so minimalistic and gives a whole new perspective to a photo. Found some good tutorials and having installed Photoshop CS3 a while back, I decided to give it a go. Maybe it'll be out by tomorrow..But from the looks of it, it'll take at least a week to complete.

I was never a good student for Arts and Crafts. The only time I passed Arts & Crafts was in Primary 5, barely scraping through with a 55 point pass. My parents knew I wasn't a very artistic person, so they didn't blame me for it.

Things got worse when I got into the Arts stream of my secondary school, despite endless pleas for them to let me take the Technical stream..or just the subject. My calls went unanswered and I dropped Art in Secondary 4, 3 months before the GCE 'O' levels exams. This time, the whole upper management came down on me, because I had already dropped Literature. They wanted me to take 6, you see..and it was an embarassment to them..an Arts student dropping Arts.

Oh well, enough of ancient history.
It's funny how Fate works..because the career path I'm taking is an artistic one. Yes, Film is an artistic media, no matter how you see it.
Just hope that this time, I won't drop it.

2 more days! Yay!

11/14

Ah Boi says:

So today I woke up early and met SW to do some photography over at Derrick's house.
Went down to Uncle Ah Ho's noodle stall to have "mee pok"!
Still as good as ever..love that taste.

In case you're wondering, Uncle Ah Ho used to sell Teochew fishball noodles over at my Ah Gong's old "kopitiam". So ever since I could remember, I was eating his "Mee Tai Mak" in a large bowl of soup and when my tastes evolved, so did my choice of noodles. I adored his "mee pok" since my teenage years..the chilli is spicy and has a distinct taste, the flavourings just right that makes you have the feeling of being "home" (有家的味道啦!) and the noodles springy. Additionally, Uncle Ah Ho's fishcakes are all HANDMADE. You can tell by the irregular shape of his fish cakes. Deep fried to perfection, they make a great snack.

Best fishball noodles around for years..until the "Zheng Hu" demanded we sell our 2 storey shophouse to them for their own profitability preservation. What to do?
But fortunately, Uncle Ah Ho's famous noodles is still available. I chanced upon it when I was at Mustafa Centre running some errands during my attachment. The flavour was exactly the same as I remembered..and I started scanning the area for Uncle Ah Ho. I noticed an old uncle who resembled him, but did not have the courage to go up to him, lest I was mistaken. It was only after Dad told me that Uncle Ah Ho's stall was indeed at the coffee shop that I realised that I have found him!

If you're interested to give his noodles a go, it's opposite Mustafa Travels at Mustafa Centre, right next to the Kim San Leng coffee shop. The stall name is "Ah Ho Teochew Fishball Noodle" and Uncle Ah Ho has placed prominent (and positive) reviews of his noodles by Makansutra and some other Channel U program below it. You can't miss it.

*NOTE: Please be informed that Uncle Ah Ho's noodles are NOT HALAL..so don't sabo your Muslim friends, hor.

Dearie..next time we go together, k?
Faster come home..I miss you..

Miss all of you....

10/14

Ah Boi says:

Woke up late today, because I woke up to watch the Champions League match between Manchester United and AS Roma, which I continued with 2 episodes of CSI Miami (Season 4).

Been a great fan of CSI Miami..I won't watch anything else.
Val hates the fact that Horatio has to put on his sunglasses to make him look cool..LOL!
No need to guess what I did today. Spent the day watching CSI Miami.
Dearie likes CSI as well, though probably not to my extent.

Mom finally took out the brand new fruit juicer out of storage today.
Made carrot+orange+apple juice..and it was great.
I'm probably going to make apple and grape juice tomorrow..or maybe just apple juice.
Can't seem to get enough of apple juice..I could go into a store, buy a 1 litre carton of it and empty it by the time I get home.

Dearie came online and we had a video call today. Was great seeing her for the first time in 10 days..Too bad she had to leave after 30 minutes. Mom was glad to be able to talk to her as well.
Well, just 4 more days to go.

I miss you so much..even more than before now that I've seen your face..
Come home soon..

9/14

Ah Boi says:

Brrr..it's quite chilly tonight as it rained the while of this evening.

Took my Xmod out of storage today. Used it to listen to mink as well as some old songs from Final Fantasy Vocal Collections. Whoa..it was great. HeHz..needless to say, I spent most of the day on my iPod and Xmod.

Mom didn't cook again today, hence I was presented with the toughest question I have to face (at least once) every week.."So what am I going to eat for dinner?"
Decided that I should have Deep Fried Spring Chicken for dinner, so I set out to get myself a nice, big, juicy and tender spring chicken. The regular stall I would go to was closed, so I decided to go get it from another stall at another coffee shop.

Boy, was I in for a surprise.
Ordered half a spring chicken because it was kind of expensive and it took like 10 minutes from ordering to getting it in my hands. Took it home and armed with a bottle of chilli sauce, I opened a can of Pepsi and sat down, rubbing my hands with glee and licking my lips..Opened up the box and..

I saw half of a really, really small bird. Honestly, it was probably smaller than a bloody pigeon. A small side of coleslaw and a litter of soggy fries accompanied the sad looking meal. If I wanted half a quail for dinner, I would have ordered that, wouldn't I? Should have just gone to KFC for a 2 piece meal..it would have filled me up better. In the end, I had to fill up my rumbling tummy with lots of bread with small slivers of chicken.
Remind me never to patronise that stall again.

Tonight, it's Champions League night!
Manchester United vs Roma whom we whipped with a cool 7-1 result last season
Glory, Glory Man United!

5 more days!
I'm so glad that you're coming home soon!

HeHz..I kept true to my promise today.
Woke up at 10am and it was refreshing. Had pratas for breakfast too..kind of nice, considering how long I haven't had prata.

Watched "Big Fish" (2003) starring Ewan Macgregor, Albert Finney and Billy Crudup today. Brought tears to my eyes at certain parts..probably because of the strained relationships between the dad and his son. Reminded me of how me and my dad used to be when I was younger. All in all, it's a good movie if you can look past the fantasy..it's really about a man and his father. I'm sure you all know that by now.

Went out to meet the guys and had "la kopi" session with them. JJ is going to Beijing tomorrow, so I thought I'd go down, even though my back was killing me. Bon Voyage, everyone who is going to Beijing!
After that, went to SW's home, since it was still early to meet Nat from PPCP. Wanted to get my tripod changed since I knew I was going down to Yishun anyway. In case you're wondering why this post is late, that's because we chatted until 1.40am. LOL! Yes, we guys talk a lot too. But hey! It's a good thing!
One thing is for sure, we're psyched up for the next semester. Man, can't wait to kick some butt!

Really feel like going for a shoot. Anywhere will do. Just go out there, snap some pictures and see what I can do with them. And I really want that filter set, too. Guess I have to wait until "Ah Gong" delivers my Growth Dividends and GST Credits to my bank account. OOooooh..I can't wait!

8 days and counting..
Soon, you'll be home..
